Just a short vacation. Thanks for tagging along! :)
It's a sign! To Bacolod City. Why Bacolod? I also don't know. Way before I got really interested in traveling, I only wanted to visit two places- Dumaguete and Bacolod. I was able to visit DGT in 2009 and this time, BCD. See? I have a very doable travel list! Haha! But like any growing individual, hopping and exploring once place from another only gives you this wanting to visit more places. And mind you, a lot has been added to my list since then. BCD: Check! Note: this is not an informative post, I'm just sharing my mini adventure with whoever reads this blog!
Blowing bubbles outside The San Sebastian Cathedral. Everytime I visit a new city, I always make it a point to drop by their Cathedral and the Carmelites Monastery in the place. Not only that it is already part of the itinerary, but it's also nice to redeem Catholicism in these places.
View deck of The Pope John Paul II's Observatory. This near SM-Bcd. An observatory deck that gives you a view of the city and how vast their sugar plantations are. This also contains memorabilia of the Pope's visit in 1981. *sorry all pictures were really erased*.
MASKARA!!! Every October the city celebrates a mini-Sinulog, The Maskara Festival. Picture was taken in one of their souvenir shops near Robinson's Mall. *sorry I'm so sucky in travel blogs, I know!* and I'm claiming it already, I will be in Bacolod for this years festival!
Mambukal Resort in Murcia. Murcia is an hour mini bus ride from the city. Opposite of the Silay airport. Imagine us racing against time on our last day! From one end to the other. On our way there, we marveled on the endless sugar plantations and the scenic view of Mt. Kanlaon partly hidden with some clouds. There's a lot to do in the resort really- swimming, kayaking, trekking, bonfires. Since we didn't have much time, we trekked on two waterfalls and used that red boat on the picture to explore the lagoon. *Joey Potter peg in the picture*.
THE RUINS. Honestly, this is the only reason why I pushed through with this trip though I missed my flight, had to rebook and all! Times two the gasto! Oh my, too much history here. I LOVE the place. Seriously. We made it a point to catch the sunset here, beautiful! Id say this is a must visit in the country. The European architecture at its best!!!
We also visited: The Manokan Country (their very own version of our Larsians), Bacolod Cathedral, the ever famous Calea (which really serves the BEST cheesecake ever!) and walked around Lacson Street with the iphone as our map!
What I like about BCD: Everything is in Lacson Street! Just hop into a jeepney with the sign "Bata-Libertad" and it will practically let you see the city.
*Forgive me, I am not a travel blogger*
